Angel in June

Filipinos are really known to be an artist - from plays to music, arts to crafts, and now in photography and movies.
I am one of those Filipino na super proud every time I heard of the achievement of my "kababayans" - when Pacquao won kahit hindi ko naman sya kilala personally but being a Filipino parang feeling ko lang kasama ako sa pagkapanalo.  I felt the same again when I heard that one Filipino movie was made it on the Doha Tribeca Film Festival.
DTFF is an annual film festival that implements, consolidates, and oversees films initiatives in Qatar. Its their aim as well to promote Arab and international film and to develop a sustainable film industry in Qatar.
Being one of the finalist on DTFF is really an achievement and how much more given a chance to have a special screening.
Angel in June is one of the privileged to be in DTFF 2012. It is also the first FILIPINO feature film made in Qatar. Isn't it a great thing to be proud of being a Filipino? Kahit saan talaga dalhin ang Pinoy pang-world class.
Angel in June is an independent film inspired by the story of Angel Magno, a student from Philippine School of Doha (PSD); a girl full of dreams, hope, and with strong faith in God who's at her young age bravely face the battle of cancer.
The Filipino values of having a closed family ties was also showed in the movie, being helpful to others especially in times of need.
The movie was produced by OFWs in Doha Qatar. It is independently funded by and is supported by the Film Academy of the Philippines' director general and actor himself Leo Martinez.
