Run-Walk-Run 2013

My first day of Eid holiday was really packed, literally loaded with activities - from dawn till night. We were dismissed in the seminar early than the usual, instead of two topics, Rev.Nat discussed only one as he knows we need to go up early for our 1st Eid Holiday activity - the RUN-WALK-RUN!
After seminar, we prepared some stuffs to be used to the activity. Its my first time actually to join the RWR. I always makes excuses not to join because of my migraine especially kapag mainit talaga but this year thanks be to God, no reasons not to come :-) and I really enjoyed it, kahit puyat at pagod, no migraine, galing ni Lord.
Since I'm a part of Program Ministry in our church and the RWR is one of the activity initiated by the min. kelangan talaga present from the preparation.
Our improvised and impromptu on the making banner :-) Buti na lang laging kumpleto ng supplies ang mga taga library min. :-)

If you are happy for whatever you do kahit pagod ka na you can still able to smile and feel the joy. And sympre hindi pa kami nagdidinner so next stop namin is Jollibee!
malayo ang tingin...hmm siguro natatakap na sya sa nasa kabilang table :-)
nakasmile na sila kasi parating na ang order :-) naserved na ang gravy
ang mga batang Jobeee at ang gutom nang si Daddy Bert :-)

Arrived at the house around 1:00 a.m and get up at 4:00 a.m.
Good morning Doha!
"asan na kayo?"  - "Kuya malapit na po kami, nasa may Doha Port na" :-)

Run Walk Run is one of our way to develop the closeness, camaraderie and most of all fellowship with one another.  I am with QICM (Qatar International Christian Ministries) Church for seven years pero napakadaming bagong mukha (for me) akong nakita. I was talking with one of our church elder Bro. Hermie, nakakatuwa lang marinig yung mga old stories about the church, about the brethren and even activities na ginagawa nila dati.
We started the activity with prayer.
Lets the Run Walk Run 2013 begins!

We set the game into categories according to age - we have kids, teens, young adult (men and women), adult (men and women).
The kids and the teens

the future Church leaders, pastors and ministers :-)
"we're read"- supportive dad naman si Kuya :-)

Children must be trained while they are still children so they can have habits. Trained them to participate in church activities and to be in the church services, in such way they can start to be involved at their young age. Ito yung age na sabi nila malambot pa ang mga tuhod, minsan madalas nadadapa kasi nga di pa nila alam minsan kung paano magdecide sa sarili nila and most of their decision are depends on their parents. Super energetic and excited talaga sila, nakakatuwa din to see how determined they are to compete with other kids.
texting while walking :-)
I can't help to wish nung makita ko sila how actively they participated na sana ganon rin ako nung bata ako, na I have the eagerness to be with others especially in church activities but hindi pa naman huli ang lahat, I can have my "now" and if given a chance to be a mother I will train my child as well to get involve in church activities and have fellowship not only to few who are in the church but as much as possible to all.

Women - The Young Adults and  The Adults
Women are usually labeled as vulnerable and sensitive and mostly tagged as "iyakin". Mga babae papayag ba kayo to be tagged as that, well I guess not all times, women are just more emotional than men. Women cries when they are happy, when they get surprised, when they are hurt, when they are in pain but it doesn't mean they are weak. Women can compete in a good fight, they can sometimes even excel in field of men. But in the end wala pa ring hihigit sa anumang role nila as ilaw ng tahanan. Iyakin man sa paningin ng iba, they have their own strength in dealing their lives and life of the family.
Ladies, are you ready?

Men - The Young Adults and The Adults
Men are the one who are known to be strong and courageous. They are considered as "tagapag dala ng pamilya" that's why they are called the head of the family. In our society hindi dapat sila nakikitang umiiyak ang mga lalake, imagine mahirap din yon ha e what if your heart is dictating you to cry...hayss well that is society based only. A real man is someone who knows how to be affection as well as show some emotions too, maybe not as emotional as women but they are also human they have emotions and feelings too. Some men are labeled as disciplinarian and some are bossy but to top it all, they are all just concern especially to their family.
posing muna pag may time :-)

Life doesn't mind whatever your gender is, babae ka man or lalake, bata, teenager, mid-lifers ka man or adult ka man or kahit pa nga late adult ka na, as long as you know to manage your life, makakarating ka sa finish line, napagod ka man sa mga pinagdaanan mo, maraming pawis ka mang naipawis at nadapa ka man, for sure pagdating mo sa finish line nakangiti ka.
And the winners....

And sympre thank you po sa masarap na almusal ng food committee...

Congratulations to all of us PROGRAM MINISTRY!
To God be the glory
Its a SUCCESS!

Life is like a roller coaster as they say, may ups and down but its like a race as well, sometimes you need to run to reach your goal - the finish line, but along your way you'll get tired, hindi naman masamang magpahinga and stop for a while, but do not fully stop baka di mo matapos ang race, pwede ka namang maglakad, take it easy at tska ulit tumakbo kapag kaya mo na. May mga instances na madadapa ka, the decision is yours kung tatayo ka or hahayaan mong matapakan ka na lang ng mga naguunahan mong kalaban. Sometimes we almost want to give up, pero paano ang finish line, malapit na tska ka pa ba susuko?

Till next RUN-WALK-RUN!
GOD BLESS US ALL

"Umpukan" Session

We usually hear the word "umpukan" in the Philippines, its a Filipino tradition wherein as long as 3 persons or more are gathered exchanging stories, opinions and views.
One of the activity in the seminar is to have an "umpukan" after every topic. On the first and second night may mga questions na hindi kami masyadong makapagshare kasi we're not yet parents like what did you do or your reaction nung malaman mo na pregnant ko or sa lalake kung magiging tatay ka na. So while we are on our "umpukan" we gave chances to those who experienced already because they are parents already. The second set of "umpukan" question naman is if you will dedicate your child what concept you want to have. I answered na if God will give me a chance to be a mother, during my child's dedication gusto ko I and his dad will give message as in yung nakavideo so when he/she grow up sya mismo yung makakapanood and makakarinig na ever since he/she is already loved by us. When it comes choosing to ninong and ninang naman, other shared na don't look at the status of the godmother or godfather, instead look for someone who is really close to the family, someone na makikita ng bata from the time na maliit pa sya at makakalakihan nya.
On the second night one of the question was anong way ang gagawin mo just to let your child know that he/she is on the early adulthood stage already. I was really surprise na kelangan pa pala yon, and happy to heard what Rev. Nat shared with us on how in some churches in the Philippines welcome the child in the early adulthood and say goodbye to the childhood. During the seminar, I honestly thinking and praying that Lord if You will allow me to be a steward of a child, give me the desire to apply all what I've heard and learned. One of our brethren who is a father already shared what did he do when they welcome their daughter into early adulthood, he give his daughter a ring and both of them make a  covenant that the daughter will let his father know if there will be a man in her life.
Third night is our night as its the night for the mid-lifers :-)
Question:  Do you have any unfilled dreams, blessings beyond your dreams, and new dreams that you want to fulfill?
If you are in your mid-life, just try to answer that question while you're reading this post.
Since all of us in the umpukan is on our mid-life, all of us shared. Most of us has its own unfulfilled dreams but "unfulfilled" doesn't mean you have regrets inside, sometimes its a dream baka naman ilusyon na lang yon.
Almost all of us didn't plan to work abroad, its blessings beyond our dreams, lagi kong sinasabi dati na mag-aabroad lang ako to travel and not to work but God has His own plan talaga, more than anyone else Sya ang ang may perfect plan. New dreams na gusto kong ibigay ni Lord sa akin...a family of my own siguro I mean I have my family but sympre iba pa rin yung sarili mong family na makakasama mo pagtanda mo.
single, the father and the couple :-)

the wife and the singles :-)

bros ang sabi mag-umpukan kelangan talaga may selfie pic :-)
The last question on the "umpukan" for the late adulthood stage naman. Here's the question: Have you ever find joy in your life? have you been the reasons of joy for others?
Try to answer it by yourself as well, at your age hindi ka man nasa late adulthood kung itatanong sa'yo yang question na yan, may maii-share ka ba?
For the three nights of "umpukan" natutunan ko na as we grow old, magkakaroon tayo ng maraming experiences - there will be pain and heartaches hindi naman puro joy and happiness, all we need to do is harapin lang natin yon, di natin matatakasan yon, kung maoovercome natin yon hindi natin namamalayan habang tumatawid tayo sa isang stage ng buhay dumarami yung experiences natin, dumarami yung mga naiishare mo at nakwekwento, kasi puno tayo ng memories from our past. Ang saya siguro tumanda ng ganon. Habang pwede pa tayong magipon ng magipon ng mga memories, gawin natin para dumating man tayo ng late adulthood we have so many stories to share to the young generation. And remember kelangan tumanda tayong masaya.
By the way meet our guest speaker - pastor-preacher on the "Yugto at Pagtawid" seminar - Rev. Nathaniel "Nat" Ramos, he is the director of 700 Club Global, Philippines.
Like me, I know all of the participants of the seminar and all of us who had our "umpukan" were blessed and Rev.Nat is a blessing to us talaga, sharing all those stories and personal experiences on how to deal in each stage of life.
I'll try to share you guys what I remember and grasp from the seminar, kahit konti lang mashare ko din sa inyo yung blessings na nakuha ko for the teachings.
Now whenever I will hear the word "umpukan" hindi chismisan or mga walang kabuluhang kwentuhan ang maaalala ko instead the seminar of "Yugto at Pagtawid", a worthy sharing of experiences and stories about life.
Hindi lang natapos sa worship hall ang "umpukan", sa late dinner namin may "umpukan" pa rin :-)

Peek from the Eid Al Adha 2013 Holiday

I miss blogging, honestly I have so many stories to share with you guys but again my apology for having no time to do it. I thought I can do it during Eid holidays but I was wrong I've been so busy as in super busy before and during Eid. But even though I was so busy, tired and only had few hours of sleep almost every day I am so blessed attending all the activities I had for that week. I even told to one of my friend the other day when he asked me about my holiday. I told him that so far after 7 years staying here in Qatar, this year of Eid is one of happiest and memorable I had.
I am blessed for all the teachings I've heard, for all the times I am with my brethren even I am tired from work but still I am eager to attend the seminars and eat dinner with them so late, as in mid night snack na... pero at the end of the day its all worthy.
I'll try to share all to you guys all the activities I had since I eloped in here :-)
Here are some of the snapshots of some of what I had and I'll try to make separate post from each activity. Namiss ko kayo ng sobra...

The Foodies, The Food Trippers, and The Food2graph

Recently more and more people are posting foods on social medias, I admit I'm one of them :-) I remember nung umuwi ako for vacation, our family had a dinner and after we prayed for the food, me and my siblings took pictures of those foods.
Bakit kelangan na picturan ang mga pagkain? wag nyo sabihin ipopost nyo pa rin sa Facebook? Mommy said. Well, I don't have any idea where food posts started and why do really people do it. All I know is from my side, nakakatuwa lang na may babalikbalikan ka when you saw that food again on the picture parang marerecall mo ulit ang lasa.
Foodie, food2graph and foodstagramming? Are you familiar to those craze?
Well lets take our Food 101 class and as a partial of "My Eid Al Fitr 2013" here are some of the photos that you guys have sent and posted in response to my blog invitation. Thank you so much ^_^
The Foodies
Foodie is a person that spends a keen amount of attention and energy on knowing the ingredients of the food, the proper preparation of the food, and finds great enjoyment in top notch ingredients and exemplary preparation.
Its not only the chef that can be a foodie nor the ladies in the kitchen but recently we've seen that more and more gentlemen can be seen doing cooking chores or posting their own newly discovered recipes. The best way to a woman's heart is through stomach din naman, kaya guys try nyo maging-foodie who knows you might get her sweet "yes" after tasting your tempting chocolate mouse or cheesy cheesy cake.
One of my male cousin Jep is a foodie, he loves to bake and he do it well. Aside that it runs on his blood as his mom Tita Ella is such a great baker, the interest of discovering recipes in really within him.
Red Velvet Cupcake by Jep Perez
Ate Che, 33 and a cousin of mine also loves to be in front of her laptop to research new recipes. She's spend her free time with her pan and oven to cook and bake.
Banana cupcake with cinnamon toppings by Che Cleofe

Baking for them is just a hobby but they are thinking as well if they can venture into business. Since I don't have cooking or baking skills I might be their marketing agent :-) so if you want to have and taste their red velvet cupcake and banana cupcake or cake just let me know. And not to mention their cheesy cheesecake as in ang sarap! If you are one of my visitor on my 31st birthday and tasted the strawberry cheesecake, its Jep's recipe too.
I'm happy to be surrounded by foodies and I'm hoping to get the same passion and interest they have in cooking and baking, sabi nga ni Mommy baka daw ibalik ako ng parents in law ko sa kanila kapag di ako natutong magluto, well ang sagot ko kaya nga po ang hahanapin ko yung magaling magluto :-) Well I know naman to cook, I'm not really into kitchen that much, but I assure you I know how ^_^
Food cravings and Food2graph
Food craving is an intense desire to consume a specific food than the normal hunger. More and more photos of food are being posted on different social sites everyday some are captioned "my cravings for the day" or "craving for this"  The act of taking photos of those mouthwatering foods and uploading it to different social media sites and tempting even the least hunger person to see it is called food2graph. If before those mouthwatering foods are only seen in advertisement for the company to promote their products not nowadays, the consumers themselves are the one who's promoting for free the food offered by food chains or restaurants. Kahit walang advertisement kikita at dadayuhin ang balot, fishball and isaw vendor kasi nakita sa post mo.
Here are some of the pictures I've got during Eid Holidays when people crave much and food porn are flooding in social sites.
 Halo-halo from Jollibee Doha

Enjoying the first day of Eid Al Fitr

Most OFWs are still cravings for panlasang Pinoy, kahit na sabihin na naglevel up na ang afford na bilhin or mga restaurants and food chains na pwedeng kainan. Sabi nga iba talaga ang lutong Pinoy :-)
And for those who love to stay at home and be with their family, the best pa rin ang lutong bahay and I guess it will save you more kasi if ang ipupunta mo lang sa mall is to satisfy your food cravings I'm sure paguwi mo ng bahay may paper bag ka ng bitbit :-)
Pero kahit namimiss natin ang mga pagkaing Pinoy, we can't deny  the fact na may mga local foods din dito na hinahanap ng panlasa natin kung minsan like shwarma, kebab, or lamb chops na kahit talagang super dami ng tao you'll be willing to wait just to satisfy your cravings.

Some of the people on holidays really enjoyed going to the malls but aside from shopping hindi rin nawawala ang pagkain. Some people are curious to try the newly opened restaurants, coffee shops, or food chains. Its not only about cravings some of them are just "food trips"
Mocha Latte Iced Coffee and Cinnamon roll from Tim Hortons
Food trippers - its their first time at Tim Hortons
After coffee and doughnuts, a cup of ice cream from Coldstone
Dinner at Chowking, Dar Al Salam Mall
No wonder why people gained weight after holidays, so guys don't ask me why I do :-) Its good thing we didn't had any food comma during our eating trips.
Food Coma
From the word itself "comma" which means stagnant, food coma is a state where in the person is generally lethargic, lazy and very full upon eating. The cause of the food coma is eating too much carbohydrates rich foods and drinking too much wine with a meal.
To relieved from food coma, one can unbutton their pants so their stomach can expand and take a short nap followed by dessert. Note only short nap and not deep sleep.

Foodstagrammers
That's what they will call you if you are one of those obsessively taking picture on every food you eat and post it to social medias.
Some restaurants especially fine dining and hotels have stopped customers in taking pictures of their food, not because they doesn't want to be posted but because the flash from the camera sometimes bothered and annoyed others. So if you are a foodstagrammer be sure to observe this kind of manner.

Everyone of us has our own cravings. Our taste buds are different from each other - ang masarap sa'yo pwedeng di masarap sa akin, but in the end for sure if food trip magkakasundo rin!
And take note guys if you food craver or food trippers be sure not to waste foods, minsan we are only "takaw tingin" then wala na mapapatapon lang ang mga pagkain. Be sure that you'll consume what you have as I've always said kapag may nakikita akong nasasayang na pagkain "maraming taong nagugutom"
No matter what kinds or types of food you have on your plate it will taste better if you'll eat with your family or friends.
Happy Food trip foodies and foodstagrammers!

Note: The blogger updated this post, instead of "food porn" she used food2graph. She changed it for some personal reasons.
