"Umpukan" Session

We usually hear the word "umpukan" in the Philippines, its a Filipino tradition wherein as long as 3 persons or more are gathered exchanging stories, opinions and views.
One of the activity in the seminar is to have an "umpukan" after every topic. On the first and second night may mga questions na hindi kami masyadong makapagshare kasi we're not yet parents like what did you do or your reaction nung malaman mo na pregnant ko or sa lalake kung magiging tatay ka na. So while we are on our "umpukan" we gave chances to those who experienced already because they are parents already. The second set of "umpukan" question naman is if you will dedicate your child what concept you want to have. I answered na if God will give me a chance to be a mother, during my child's dedication gusto ko I and his dad will give message as in yung nakavideo so when he/she grow up sya mismo yung makakapanood and makakarinig na ever since he/she is already loved by us. When it comes choosing to ninong and ninang naman, other shared na don't look at the status of the godmother or godfather, instead look for someone who is really close to the family, someone na makikita ng bata from the time na maliit pa sya at makakalakihan nya.
On the second night one of the question was anong way ang gagawin mo just to let your child know that he/she is on the early adulthood stage already. I was really surprise na kelangan pa pala yon, and happy to heard what Rev. Nat shared with us on how in some churches in the Philippines welcome the child in the early adulthood and say goodbye to the childhood. During the seminar, I honestly thinking and praying that Lord if You will allow me to be a steward of a child, give me the desire to apply all what I've heard and learned. One of our brethren who is a father already shared what did he do when they welcome their daughter into early adulthood, he give his daughter a ring and both of them make a  covenant that the daughter will let his father know if there will be a man in her life.
Third night is our night as its the night for the mid-lifers :-)
Question:  Do you have any unfilled dreams, blessings beyond your dreams, and new dreams that you want to fulfill?
If you are in your mid-life, just try to answer that question while you're reading this post.
Since all of us in the umpukan is on our mid-life, all of us shared. Most of us has its own unfulfilled dreams but "unfulfilled" doesn't mean you have regrets inside, sometimes its a dream baka naman ilusyon na lang yon.
Almost all of us didn't plan to work abroad, its blessings beyond our dreams, lagi kong sinasabi dati na mag-aabroad lang ako to travel and not to work but God has His own plan talaga, more than anyone else Sya ang ang may perfect plan. New dreams na gusto kong ibigay ni Lord sa akin...a family of my own siguro I mean I have my family but sympre iba pa rin yung sarili mong family na makakasama mo pagtanda mo.
single, the father and the couple :-)

the wife and the singles :-)

bros ang sabi mag-umpukan kelangan talaga may selfie pic :-)
The last question on the "umpukan" for the late adulthood stage naman. Here's the question: Have you ever find joy in your life? have you been the reasons of joy for others?
Try to answer it by yourself as well, at your age hindi ka man nasa late adulthood kung itatanong sa'yo yang question na yan, may maii-share ka ba?
For the three nights of "umpukan" natutunan ko na as we grow old, magkakaroon tayo ng maraming experiences - there will be pain and heartaches hindi naman puro joy and happiness, all we need to do is harapin lang natin yon, di natin matatakasan yon, kung maoovercome natin yon hindi natin namamalayan habang tumatawid tayo sa isang stage ng buhay dumarami yung experiences natin, dumarami yung mga naiishare mo at nakwekwento, kasi puno tayo ng memories from our past. Ang saya siguro tumanda ng ganon. Habang pwede pa tayong magipon ng magipon ng mga memories, gawin natin para dumating man tayo ng late adulthood we have so many stories to share to the young generation. And remember kelangan tumanda tayong masaya.
By the way meet our guest speaker - pastor-preacher on the "Yugto at Pagtawid" seminar - Rev. Nathaniel "Nat" Ramos, he is the director of 700 Club Global, Philippines.
Like me, I know all of the participants of the seminar and all of us who had our "umpukan" were blessed and Rev.Nat is a blessing to us talaga, sharing all those stories and personal experiences on how to deal in each stage of life.
I'll try to share you guys what I remember and grasp from the seminar, kahit konti lang mashare ko din sa inyo yung blessings na nakuha ko for the teachings.
Now whenever I will hear the word "umpukan" hindi chismisan or mga walang kabuluhang kwentuhan ang maaalala ko instead the seminar of "Yugto at Pagtawid", a worthy sharing of experiences and stories about life.
Hindi lang natapos sa worship hall ang "umpukan", sa late dinner namin may "umpukan" pa rin :-)

Peek from the Eid Al Adha 2013 Holiday

I miss blogging, honestly I have so many stories to share with you guys but again my apology for having no time to do it. I thought I can do it during Eid holidays but I was wrong I've been so busy as in super busy before and during Eid. But even though I was so busy, tired and only had few hours of sleep almost every day I am so blessed attending all the activities I had for that week. I even told to one of my friend the other day when he asked me about my holiday. I told him that so far after 7 years staying here in Qatar, this year of Eid is one of happiest and memorable I had.
I am blessed for all the teachings I've heard, for all the times I am with my brethren even I am tired from work but still I am eager to attend the seminars and eat dinner with them so late, as in mid night snack na... pero at the end of the day its all worthy.
I'll try to share all to you guys all the activities I had since I eloped in here :-)
Here are some of the snapshots of some of what I had and I'll try to make separate post from each activity. Namiss ko kayo ng sobra...

Here Comes the BER!

And the BER month started!

Yesterday BER was warmly welcomed over social media sites and for sure even in radio, TV, and in offices. The excitement, joy and happiness to the face of everyone were lighted.

I am excited to count the days till Christmas and new year.
Well since last month I started my Christmas countdown, I told you I'm not that excited for Christmas or New Year ..hahaha
114 days till Christmas!

Red tags are everywhere when the BER started - shopping malls and even on online shopping sites. Be sure to bring your shopping list, in that way you can only but what you need...para ano pa ang sense ng "sale" na makatipid kung bibili ka ng bibili pero in the end di mo rin naman magagamit or wala ka namang pagbibigyan. Be a wise shopper! Be sure that you are familiar to the original price of the product on sale. On online shopping baka nga sale nga pero malaki naman ang shipping cost so di ka rin makakatipid.

I have so many friends and god children, and every year nadadagdagan ang mga inaanak ko and super thankful ako cos I know they are all blessing for me, from the time pa lang na pagkatiwalaan ako ng mga parents nila to be their god mother, blessing na yon for me. One of the thing I must do as early as I can is to update my "inaanak list" kasi baka mamaya may makalimutan na ako at di mapasama sa budget, hehehe. Update - update din 'pag may time.
I don't know what's the magic behind Christmas decors; the red, green and gold or silver that can uplift the moods of homesickness. Although some says mas nakakahomesick daw ang may mga decors sa house, mas naaalala mo daw kasi na wala ka sa Pinas but for me its opposite. I love colorful yet compliment each other decorations, wag naman yung over decorated, as the rule says : LESS IS BEAUTIFUL.

Ber is about family reunion and gatherings. November pa lang sinisimulan na ang bonding and much more on December - kahit super sunod-sunod at kumusta naman ang eye bags sa puyat di pwedeng mamiss ang mga party and gatherings kasi once a year lang.
December 20,2012 - Bible Study Cellgroup Christmas Party
December 21, 2012 QICM Thanksgiving Year End Party
December 26, 2012 - SUPER FRIENDS Christmas Special 2012
December 27, 2012 - Doha Family Year End Party
December 31, 2012 - New Year's Eve with my family / my surprise homecoming
O kitams hindi masyadong busy ang beauty kapag December may interval na pahinga pa yan ang magayos ng bagahe to send to courier at ng mga hand carry going to Pinas plus ang gift wrapping dilemma ko na laging cramming.
But aside from other activities I'm looking kapag pumasok na ang BER is yung mga out reach activities. Kung pwede nga lang lagi na lang BER month kasi halos yata lahat ng tao generous, have you ever notice kapag BER month ang daming  out reach programs from orphanage to home for the aged even mga street children naiipon.  Sana hindi lang occasionally ang pagiging generous, sabi nga sana araw-araw Pasko.

December 20, 2012 OWWA Gift Giving
Ber month  = Busyness but we cannot deny the fact na kahit anong busy natin at pagod super fulfilled naman. May magic nga yata ang BER month cos every time na papasok na ang September 1 halos lahat tayo ay nagstart ng magplano, for us who are working outside the coutry ang laging wish is makauwi for Christmas and New Year, although hindi lahat nabibigyan ng chance na makapacelebrate ng holidays sa Pinas it doesn't mean na magiging malungkot na. Always remember guys, JESUS is the reason for the season. So no matter where we are the joy must be in our heart.
Anything in mind na naaalala mo kapag pumasok na ang BER month?
