Dear SMART PH

Dear SMART PH,

I have been keeping my SIM Card with me panahon pa ng 5110 way back 1999 if I'm not mistaken. Actually my first SIM card was your great competitor but there's an instance that I load 300PHP prepaid card and when I woke up and check my balance its zero na. So since there is a SMART center just across the university that time,I swapped and get my new SIM.
Si 09192972793 sya ang nakaalam ng lahat lahat about sa akin - sweet nothings, messages, special greetings and even the not so good news and events in my life. Kilala nya ang mga friends and family ko  Kasama ko syang naging happy, na-disappoint, umiyak, naging victorious and even in my journey here in middle east.
Nakakatuwa kasi my family and friends can still reach me kahit malayo sila, yung makita ko yung mga text nila nakakawala ng pagod. Just recently last March I received birthday greetings pa from my friends. I'm happy cos even dekada na ang lumipas they still have my number.
I was very busy, and honestly nakalimutan ko talagang i-charged ang roaming phone ko for 2 weeks yata. Last Friday when I'm cleaning my room nakita ko si roaming phone ko, kaagad ichinarge ko and I even asked my brother kung nasaan yung isa kong phone kasi I'm planning na don ko na lang ulit ilagay si roaming pero pagbukas ko ng roaming phone ko wala na syang signal.
I convinced myself na magiging ok din baka kasi yung phone ang may problema or baka mahina lang talaga ang signal pero until yesterday wala pa rin. I asked my Tita to call your center and from her I found out na its already 120 days na di ko na-loadan si roaming. Just give me a chance to have roaming again, I'm very willing to pay for any amount just to recover its life... more a decade ko na syang kasama. Hope you can do something, anyway no one can have the same number naman di ba.
PLEASE PLEASE...
I promise I will take care of it na.
Hopefully you grant my request, wala na naman pwede gumamit ng number na yan kung hindi ako di ba? Sige na para mag-smile na ulit ako...

Sagip Kababayan: Reaching Out for Victims of Typhoon Yolanda

Every time I see the photos and videos how the typhoon Yolanda disastrously damaged Philippines I can't help to cry and sympathize to my fellow Filipino. But even I cried so hard and loud its useless, I cannot comfort them with those tears and sympathy words, they need help in any little ways we can.
I saw several posts of how other countries and even those other nationalities in vacation in Philippines help and reach our fellowmen. I am bless seeing them carry sack of rice and packing relief goods, I am happy to see the monetary figures other countries gave to Philippines to help its people and maybe to restore other important facilities that need to be restored. But how about us, does our heart desires to reach and help our "kababayans" too? or iiyak na din lang tayo at awa lang ang paiiralin every time we see them in pain and in hunger, sleeping on the cold street with full of mud.
Don't think that I'm forcing you to donate nor to help, my point is if you'll see how blessed you are at this moment if you'll compare what they are going through, will you just ignore them?
Helping others is desire from the heart and you can teach your heart to love to help others.
If you are reading my previous posts in here siguro sasabihin nyo naman nakakabingi na ang mga sermon ni Jen about helping and giving :-) well instead na mabingi ka, tumulong ka na din lang - mas masaya, masarap ang pakiramdam na magshare ng blessings.
I received calls and messages from family, friends and colleagues to lead the donation drive for the victims of typhoon Yolanda. Its not my first time to do this SAGIP KABABAYAN - nagdaan si Ondoy, Sendong, Pablo at kung sino-sino pang bagyo and lagi kong sinasabi we don't need to be rich nor to be in any position to help others, what only matters are the desire of our heart in helping.
Marami pa rin sa mga Pilipino especially OFWs ang nagdududa minsan na tumulong kasi they are thinking na ibubulsa lang ng taong papadalhan nila ang pera na ipinadala nila para sa mga biktima pero isipin nyo what if hindi naman talaga ganon? e di nasayang yung time na dapat nakatulong ka sa kapwa mo.
For several years I've been sending donations from our donation drive through some tv stations and other organizations but for this typhoon Yolanda, it will be sent directly to a person who will personally go to some areas mainly Tacloban, the most affected by the typhoon to reach the victims physically.  I'm referring to Mitz Sanchez Mape, she's a friend of one of my brethren. Mitz is not affiliated in any NGOs or private organization. She is doing out reach projects/ programs by herself with help of her family and friends.
So how Mitz will distribute our donations?
For this typhoon Yolanda operation, I and other friends and colleagues decided to instead of in kind donations we will only accept monetary donations. Why? For the past SK donation drives that we did we paid a bit expensive cost for the shipping, instead na maidadag yon sa pambili ng ibang needs ng ating mga kababayan napupunta sa shipping cost. We know na kelangan din nila ng mga damit and other apparels at malaking tulong din yung mga maiibigay natin, pero as of their present situations they need mostly foods, water, medicines and other primary needs na mas mura nating mabibili sa Pinas. But still paki-stand by lang po nung mga used clothes, kasi we are also working to seek for some groups na pwede nating pagbigyan and aside pwede po nating idonate yan sa OWWA.
How we will do it?
After gathering all the donations I will send it to Mitz, after receiving she will confirm to me. We can ask her what goods we want for the victims then she will buy it, pack and personally bring it to the victims. All the receipts will be sent to me and all the photos will be posted from time to time.
I know like me, you are also saying to yourself "kung sana andon ako sa Pinas...", if only I have means to be there personally and to reach them out physically. But the reality is we are here and one of the best that we can do is to help our fellow Filipinos by giving or sharing our resources to them.
Lets be a blessing in any simple or little ways we can!
In times like this, all we need is an open heart and open hand.
We are bless and that is enough to be a blessing as well to others especially to those who are in need.
Lets not wait for Christmas to extend help...lets make every day and every instances a Christmas, full of love and one of the essence is sharing and giving.
For any of your donations and related inquiry. don't hesitate to call me or drop me a message.
Thank you so much.
God bless Philippines
God bless us all

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God - Hebrews 13:16

The Filipino Spirit is Waterproof

How many typhoons passed the Philippines and we are victorious to survived it all! That's one of the attitude we have that make us peculiar to others - we are full of hope and positivity in life; that in the midst of storms and lightning we can still smile and laugh. We have a hopeful and positive spirit.

"Baha ka lang, PINOY po ako" - that's the Filipino spirit! Ang sabi nga matutuyo din naman ang baha, titigil din ang ulan at ang sisikat ang araw ngunit ang pagiging Pilipino natin mananatili. There are worries and fears but its a normal reaction, what matter is how we conquer each day habang nakalubog ang mga paa sa baha, at habang patuloy na bumubuhos ang ulan.
I was asked by one of  my colleagues way back years kung bakit daw ang mga Pilipino parang hindi tumatanda, we look younger daw talaga on our age, unlike their nationality na ang tanda na talaga nilang tingnan for their age. I just answered "cos we are happy people" then he replied "yes I agree, even in a difficult situation you can still smile" That's a Filipino spirit! We can still smile even in the toughest situation we're facing
The positivity within the Filipino comes out naturally - hindi na kinakailangang ituro pa kusang lumalabas in times of overwhelmingly difficult situation.
Even sila naki-trending din...
Its more fun in Philippines talaga!
But what does the Filipino spirit lifted up?
That's the Bayanihan spirit!
Compassion is not enough, action must always be taken...
Hindi tayo nagbibilangan ng naitulong, walang malaki or maliit na donations or tulong na nagawa mo ang importante ginawa mo ito sa kapwa nang may pagmamahal.
I-click, i-tweet or hashtag mo man yan as long as ginawa mo yan ng may pagmamahal sa kapwa, like na like yan, no reasons ka na nyan kasi kahit nasa bahay ka pa may way pa rin para makatulong ka.
Kapuso ka man o Kapamilya o Kapatid iisa ang layunin natin ang tumulong at sumagip ng mga kababayan natin, nasaang sulok ka man ng mundo maari mo itong gawin.
Our spirit as a Filipino is waterproof - no rains, floods or storms can hinder to rise and up again.
The sky maybe grey today and the rain falls very hard but tomorrow or after a day the sun will shine again. Its the hope from every Filipino that keeps our country going - hope that we can make to survive again, hope that there will be a better Philippines tomorrow.
Let's be lifted by the Filipino spirit - a spirit that is waterproof!
God bless every Filipino...
God bless Philippines...

Just Simply Click and #Maring

How many storms and typhoons and other calamities and disasters Philippines had been through? For every new storms and typhoons are new fears and worries how to survive and move on to whatever harm it may cause.
The first time I learned about the heavy rainfall I thought it was just an ordinary rain like any other kasi naman rainy season naman talaga sa Pinas but when I called Mommy on Friday August 18, and she told me that is non-stop already. Although we're leaving in Batangas, which is happened to be included in the list of areas where the typhoon will pass I'm not that worried cos I know hindi naman binabaha yung place namin. But like what happened to Ondoy in 2009, just a heavy hard rainfall that lasted in few days and the next day halos buong Metro Manila na ang nakalubog sa tubig.
Thanks to social media sites, even I am away sa Pinas I can be updated on what's going on - from the time they declared that SLEX is not passable already...
And all the other areas are already drowning in water....
In time like this that the only source I have is whatever I can watch on the net and the initial help I can do is to pray and to share information posted by others. But good thing even we're far in just a click we can help to disseminate information.
Here are some info-graphics I've got from several social sites that can really help a lot.

If you want to check all the status or updates posted on each category you can just type for example: http://reliefPH.com
Government officials and some prominent personalities from politics and showbiz used social medias to spread updates too.

For the complete list of evacuation centers and relief operations, check the link mentioned here:
DSWD on behalf of Secretary Dinky Soliman is appealing for help to all volunteers...
And here's another tips from Rappler.
My personal pasasalamat to rappler talaga kasi talagang updated and detailed ang mga articles nila. More power to you guys!
These are only few information that can really help us and our kababayans. It doesn't mean na hindi tayo apektado ng baha or ng ano mang kalamidad is wala na nga lang tayong pakialam. We can do something even in our own little way. By with our fingertips and laptop we can spread information, kung yun ngang mga simpleng jokes lang naiishare at nai-ihashtags natin, e bakit yung mga kapakipakinabang na inpormasyon hindi.
For how many times social medias moved for us. Noong panahon ni Ondoy at ni Sendong nagkaisa ang mga Pilipino, nabuhay ang bayanihan, marami mang nasirang ari-arian at nawalang buhay pero muli nating ipinakita na may pagkakaisa tayo, well let's do it again. By simply sharing some informative  post through social medias and by using hash tags + code we can help, we can save life.
And more than anything...

God bless Philippines
God is in control....

#ENDviolence Against Children

One of my post on my Facebook account last few days is my LSS - "Bawat bata sa ating mundo ay may pangalan, may karapatan..." And every time I heard that song I can't help myself to think those children on the street begging for food, innocent children that need to work instead of being in school, children who are beaten by their own parents and even those who serves as their guardian to protect and give love. Let's face it, its not only in the movie na may mga bata na nagagamit sa mga maling gawain ng mga sindikato or ng kung sino-sinong tao, nakakalungkot pero totoo. Kahit saang bansa yata may mga ganitong scenario, dala nga ba ito ng kahirapan? may magagawa pa tayo to stop those maltreatment? kung may magagawa ka, are you willing to do and give your part?
The simplest definition I got about child abuse - it is the physical, mental, sexual or emotional maltreatment or neglect to a child or children.  This plain definition is not as simple as that as child abuse or violence against children can happen everywhere, I remember one commercial ads aired way back years in Philippines "safe ka ba sa bahay mo?' How many featured lives of maltreatment, violence and crime of children were seen in documentary shows in tv, in the news and in newspaper that those violence happened even inside the house.
As a Filipino citizen, single ka man, may kapatid or wala, we must be aware on the rights of the children. Under the Civil-Family Code, CHILD AND WELFARE CODE children has so many rights that we must observe and provide to them. We must be aware of that, hindi mo pwedeng sabihin na hindi mo alam ang batas at wala kang pakialam sa welfare ng bata kasi di mo naman kaano-ano, ok fine, pero kaya ba ng konsensya mo?
UNICEF (United Nation Children's Fund), works for children's rights and survival, development and protection. Last July 31, 2013 UNICEF launched the #END Violence against children.
Through some infographics UNICEF are continuously trying to open the eyes of each individual about violence against children.
Did you know that...

According to UNICEF, violence against children is everywhere but people turn a blind eye. Its hidden behind closed doors. Its invisible.
All children has the right to live free from violence. Violence which harms them physically, emotionally and mentally. Violence that hinder them to live normal and at peace.
Violence against children is entirely preventable, when and if only people come together and say its not acceptable. Lets make the invisible visible and fight the rights of the children. End the violence against them.
Join the global movement to end violence against children!

Simple right? so lets start spreading #ENDviolence and help those children who are suffering violence.
I want to take this opportunity also to invite you to support UNICEF Philippines on their campaigns and projects protecting our own Filipino children.  You can be a volunteer and take action on children's rights or be a part of "champions for children" Helping children to survive and thrive is a team effort. That is why UNICEF Philippines counts on corporate and individual donations to continue its work for children all over the archipelago. Click here if you want to donate - DONATE NOW
In same date when UNICEF launch the #ENDviolence, an independent film BOSES was shown in all SM cinemas.

"Boses (Voices) is the story of a musician named Ariel who offers violin lessons to a child of the slums. Through the violin, the abused child Onyok is able to get back his voice from a mute, desensitized existence. A violin teacher and his student, a mute 7-year old abused child in a shelter, develop a friendship stemming from their love of music. Ariel discovers the immense talent of Onyok hiding behind a veneer of silence and pain caused by an unhappy and cruel father. In the developing relationship of teacher and student, both characters reveal more of themselves that otherwise may have remained unspoken. They discover each other's strengths and failures through the violin lessons"

Moviegoers who watched Boses in SM cinemas also seen the Invisible video featuring UNICEF ambassador Liam Neeson; the heartbreaking video that urges people to speak out and respond to the issue of child protection is appended to the Boses main picture.
I read some reviews that it was also shown in some depressive areas in Metro Manila where children were gathered in gymnasium as well as parents to watch the movie. Its one way of educating people as well and spread the campaign of UNICEF.
After the movie, UNICEF are also explaining their campaign on ending the violence against the children.
Sabi ni Rizal "ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" but how can we fulfilled it kung sa murang edad pa lamang ay napapariwara na ang buhay nila. How can we have good leaders if our children today is on the street and working hard instead of studying inside their classrooms.
All of us once in our life became a child, we are blessed that we didn't experience violence, so may those happy memories we have on our childhood will be an inspiration to move and fight the rights of the children today. Nobody wants violence but if we will just keep our eyes blind and lips closed many children will continue to suffer.
By simply sharing this information, we will able to help

2013 Top 50 Richest Filipino

I get curious to know who's the richest Filipino people when I read the top 5 richest Hollywood actress the other night. Although I don't really know some of their names, my interest is to know on what kind of businesses these persons are engaged and who's the youngest of them all.
Every year Forbes magazine and as published on their site issued top richest people in every countries and top billionaires in planet earth.
This is what Forbes stated on how they rank the top richest people "We do not include royal family members or dictators who derive their fortunes entirely as a result of their position of power, nor do we include royalty who, often with large families, control the riches in trust for their nation.  Over the years Forbes has valued the fortunes of these wealthy despots, dictators and royals but have listed them separately as they do not truly reflect individual, entrepreneurial wealth that could be passed down to a younger generation or truly given away. Our estimates are a snapshot of wealth on Feb. 14, when we locked in stock prices and exchange rates from around the world. If a stock market wasn’t open on that day–as was the case with Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Shanghai and Shenzhen–the stock price is from the previous trading day."

Who made it on the top 50 of the richest Filipino?

Aside from the wealth they have, another thing that really impressed me is a man at the age of 36 made it on 39! No other than Mang Inasal's founder Edgar Sia II.
Here are some tidbits I've read at Forbes about him.

Edgar Sia II
Grocer's son, Edgar Sia II founded Mang Inasal, a Filipino-style grilled chicken chain which he sold to Tony Tan Caktiong's (No.11) Jollibee Foods in 2010 for $65 million. Still owns 30% of the 500 outlet chain. Last year, he and Tan set up DoubleDragon Properties, to focus on the commercial and mass housing markets. New businesses include a franchise for China's budget hotel chain JinJiang Inns, set to open its first hotel in Manila this year. He also holds a minority stake in the Philippines Bank of Communications, where he is an advisor to the board. Shares wealth with younger brother Ferdinand and sister Rizza.
If maybe he still a bachelor, maraming maghahabol sa kanya, hehehe  but sorry ladies he is already married with 2 children.
Who knows 5, 10, 20 years from now you will be included on the list. May their stories serve as an inspiration to achieve our goals and dream cos I believe even them once in their life didn't expect that they will be made it on the top richest people in the Philippines.

SONA's Red Carpet 2013

Every year I'm one of those million Filipinos who are waiting for the State of the Nation Address. I have only two reasons: what the President will say and who will be the best on the red carpet.
I was not able to watch yet the SONA but I'm so interested to know in details more than I grasp from social media posts what does the President said. But I enjoyed watching the scene on the red carpet :-)
Before of the SONA at Batasang Pambansa, Senators opened the first senate session yesterday, notice that some of them change outfit pa talaga before heading to SONA.

The Senators of the 16th Congress of the Philippines

Let's take a glimpse on the red carpet of the Batasang Pambansa.
In every event especially in a red carpet there's always a best dressed and worst, but I chose only those that captured my attention.
"Oscars of the Philippine Politics" this is how JC Buendia, designer, describes the red carpet on the President annual State of the Nation Address.

The Family
SONA is one of the few event that we as an ordinary citizen can see other family members of the officials that we voted, of course Aquino Family is known by everyone already.
Aquino sisters with designer Paul Cabral
 The Binays
Laguna Congressman Dan Fernandez with family

The Couples
SONA give way also for politicians and government officials to walk in the red carpet with their spouse.

 JV Ejercito and wife
Kabataan Party Rep. Tery Ridon and wife
Marikina 2nd district rep. Miro Quimbo and wife, one of the best dressed
Quezon City Rep. Alfred vargas and wife
Davao del norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo and wife Dawn Zulueta, one of the best dressed

 Senator Bam Aquino and wife

Every SONA, expect number of outfits made from indigenous fabric pinya nd designs that highlight the ethnic Filipino heritage. Symbolic outfits and Filipiniana is on trends as well but nothing beats simplicity.

Less is More...
Assunta De Rosi on her black Filipiniana
Sen. Grace Poe on her perpetual Filipiniana

 Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno
According to CJ Sereno, she chose color purple as this color is the color of the judiciary.
 Valenzuela Councilor Charee Pineda
As per Coun. Charee she just chose yellow to still look young at age of 23 in Filipiniana.

 Senator Nancy Binay
 Nikki Coseteng

Vice Governor Jinky Pacquaio

Sen. Loren Legarda
Best Dresser goes to...My personal choice Leyte Rep.Lucy Torres-Gomez

Who's your choice guys?

But ooopsss how about one of the "sexiest" dressed. Well she was able to carry herself naman, kaya lang sana next time not that bare, its SONA not Film fest naman.
At the Senate before the SONA

the front
the back
Senator Pia wore a bare back gown also last 2012 SONA, so kaabang-abang every year let just find out next SONA if she will wear the same.
Simple, magarbo man or agaw attention man sila sa red carpet its their performance on the government that matters, servant of the people and not a "highness"
