Ang Flip flops, Ang Tsinelas at Ang Pag-ibig

Yesterday my 9 years 2 months and 23 days flip flops said good bye to me.

I received the said flip flops as a Valentine gifts from my parents last February 14, 2005. Babago pa lang nauuso ang mga flip flops that times and ang mamahal pa. Although I'm already working that time pero parang nanghihinayang ako to spend 500PHP on just a stylish slipper na hindi ko naman pwedeng gamitin sa work, that time kasi ang flip flops must have lang during summer unlike now that you can even wear it even you're wearing a dress. My mom knows how I love to have one pero lagi kong sinasabi sa kanya na I'd rather buy a flat sandals (one finger) from Rusty or I'll just wait CLN to have a sale than to buy flip flops. Valentine 2005 ako lang ang naiwan sa bahay, well we don't really celebrate Vday and since its weekend that time, its just a co-incidence na may date si Mommy at Daddy while si brother nasa girlfriend nya and me nasa bahay lang, I am from LDR kasi that time, its costly kaya that time kasi hindi nga kayo nagdate kung saang mga fine dining restaurant pero ang mahal ng overseas call, wala pa kasing skype at video call ang FB that time, ang yahoo messenger naman magiinit lang ang ulo nyo sa bagal at sa sorang choppy. So stay lang ang beauty ko sa bahay that time at namalancha na lang ang lola nyo while telebabad, sabi ko sa inyo since then pa lang magaling na ako sa multitasking hehehe.
After kong mamalancha watch lang ako ng tv and after umusok ang telepono, dumating na sina Mommy ko I'm expecting na may dala silang food ^____^. Kahit malalaki na kasi kami, ang parents namin basta may pupuntahan may pasalubong and ngayon naman kami na ang gumagawa ng ganon sa kanila, kahit saan kami magpunta kahit nga sa SM lang I always make sure na I have pasalubong with them. As children we must return the favor they've did to us not as an obligation or responsibility but out of love and care. "Sapatos na naman?" referring to what's inside the bag that she's holding.
I tried to search it on my inbox pero mukhang sa katagalan ay nadelete na nga even sa net wala akong makita na katulad talaga ng email na yon pero here is the jist:
In the end sya rin ang hahanaphanpin mo.
Always trust in the Lord for He knows the best for us at kung ano man ang will Nya for us tanggapin natin.

TV Shows of My Generation

And since its Thursday magreminisce tayo!
One of the trademark of each generation is our favorite t.v. shows, so today ibalik muli natin sa ating mga ala-ala ang mga paborito nating panuorin sa television, of course tv shows of my generation - the 80s,90s, and early 20s
I was in highschool then, pipilitin talagang makauwi ng 4:30p.m. para makaabot sa ANG TV!
ANG TV is a youth oriented variety show directed by Johnny Manahan. Many of the Philippine artists are from the show like Angelica Panganiban, Claudine Barreto, Rica Peralejo, John Pratts, Kaye Abad, Jolina Magdangal, and Patrick Garcia.
The "naknak who's there" and the "ngek" expression spread everywhere. The checkered opened long sleeve with white undershirt and baggy pants from Gio Alvarez was a craze too and aminin mga girls naging idol nyo din at ginaya ang mga pauso ni Jolina Magdangal like pastel color of nail polish, iba't ibang kulay sa bawat nails, the butterfly accessories especially yung butterfly clips and ring and even the hair braid and so many more, hindi ko sya idol pero her fashion craze aminado ako ginaya ko rin ...hehehe
Kapag 4:30 na?! ANG TV na!!!
A diary is the key to unlock the chain of fate
Trivia: Did you know that the first name given to the show is "Sesame" ? "Batibot" means small but strong was first aired in 1984, they are using English and Filipino language but became completely used Tagalog.
Who can forget Antonette Taus as Anna, Sunshine Dizon as Karen, Kim delo Santos as Nina and Tanya Garcia as Grace. This is a story of four girls with the same name and a mother looking for her daughter. As far as I remember every Sunday afternoon ito ipinalalabas sa GMA 7. Dito rin first na lumabas si Dingdong Dantes, oh my he really owes a lot to Antonetter Taus..hahaha
Saturday is a Gimik day!
This is a teen oriented show consisted of Star Magic Talents.
Judy Ann as Dianne, Rico Yan as Ricky, Patrick as Carlo, G.Toengi as Gina, Jolina as SC, Diether as Gary, Bojo Molina as Brian, Mylene as Melanie, Marvin Agustin as Joey, Diego Castro as Jigs.
My favorite team is Melanie and Brian samahan mo pa ng masarap ng coffee ni Melanie :-) nursing student from the province, matured magisip, responsible, matalino pero takot sa commitment. So many kwento about Gimik! I really love the story of the show, hindi lang sya for youth but even for the whole family kasi they tackle realities about the relationship of each family. Hoping ABS CBN will create a new Gimik like show.

If ABS has Gimik, may TGIS naman ang GMA
Who can forget the love team of Joaquin "Wacks" and Peachy, Cris and Kiko, anjan pa si Rain, si Mitch and si Micky. Sila ang naaalala ko kapag naririnig ko "Basta't tayo'y magkasama laging mayroong umagang kay ganda pagsikat ng araw, may dalang liwanag sa ating pangarap, ooh haharapin natin"  That's the song kasi nung last episode nila, and hindi naman ako fanatic masyado but I cried on the last episode...hahaha, feelingera lang
"Dear Joe" aired in ABC 5 once a week, if I'm not mistaken every Tuesday night. Parang a.k.a Charo Santos lang the difference nga lang Love Notes from its title are love stories. I have one episode na until now I can still remember the plot, its a New Year episode, hindi ko na idedetalye but the story is all about "don't take people for granted, if you have time now to say and let him/her/them that you love them they say it and show it. I think there's still Love Notes pero sa radio na nga lang yata wala na syang tv shows.
There are a lot of tv shows that has been part of everyone's lifestyle and set a legacy to our generation. How I wish tv networks will create and produce again the same tv shows like before - I mean yung mga realistic shows na kakapulutan ng aral, yung mga tv shows na hindi anime or kathang isip lang ang nanalo sa labanan, some stories about life, and how to walk with life sana.
(Tropang Trumpo)

Throwback Thursday Rules

I love keeping memories, recalling moments and stories how it was, and I really enjoying seeing old photos. Thanks to social medias I can do it now every Thursday, thanks for the Throwback Thursday!
Let's talk about Throwback...
According to urban dictionary "throwback" is a sudden reminder of the past. It can be brought by hearing a song in highschool, seeing an ex, or anything that is similar to flashback
If you can post selfie after every minute you captured photo of yourself, here in throwback you can't do that, here's the rule for posting like a pro.

Every photos have stories, I'm sure of that and believe me or not I'm sure that you'll always recall it whenever you see it. There were song that when we suddenly heard remind us people - old friends, the life we had, our generations, etc.
I'll try to give you at least one or two "#tbt" every week and the story behind of those post, and I encourage you to do the same. Just try it, for sure in every post you will start reminiscing - maybe we have some bitter pieces in the past but as you go along recalling it you'll be boosted you - I mean look at you now, isn't you are better than your yesterday? and if not make your today an inspiration and motivation to strive harder.

2006  Al Sadd Days
Al Sadd Doha is closed to my heart, even I only lived on that place for almost 2 years, it brought me so much memories. I started in Al Sadd together with cousins - we called each other "hausemates" or "Doha family" Everything is plain and simple but full of joy and happiness.

The First Best Buy
When I first arrived here in Doha I noticed that people really loves to shop, lagi naming naririnig ni ate Che yung Landmark, even don sa mga nakasabay namin sa airport papunta dito. Maganda daw kasi don compare sa City Center, although that time we have no idea how City Center looks like, no comparison at all. And since most of te time kami ang magkasama kasi our cousins are working so habang naghahanap-hanap ng work, one afternoon na nabored kami, sumakay kami ng taxi carpool pa nga, that time di pa namin alam na bawal pala yon, one week pa lang kami. We asked the kabayan driver na ihatid kami sa Landmark, and to our surprise ang layo pala, so since bago lang daw kami dito kabayan driver asked us just to pay QR30, mura pa yon ha pero kapag ikinonvert into peso mahal na rin. Anyways, yan ang di ko yata natutunan dito ang magconvert and if there were times naman na magconvert ako I make it sure na reasonable naman. Pag pasok pa lang sa Landmark...ay oh tukso layuan mo ako! almost all of the shops are on sale. We end up into shopping instead of job hunting :-) I bought this Mango blouse for myself, the same but different color for my mom at QR49 and a Per Una - Mark & Spencer pink diary at QR 29. When we arrived home sabi ni Tita try ko daw magconvert kung magkano na kaagad ang nashopping ko e to think nga naman na wala pa akong work that time, plus yung transport fare and yung meal pa na kinain sa mall...tsk tsk. I still have that blouse until now, I mean gave it Mommy cos hindi na kasya hahaha, and the diary I'm still keeping it, actually hindi naman sya naging diary naging directory sya ng mga company and contact number ng mga inaapplyan ko that time :-)
O di ba inosenteng - inosente pa ako and never mind the "payat" look pa ako jan, its given na ano..wala pa akong budget na pangkain kung saan saan that time, hahaha

When Boredom Strikes....

I have my cousins with me, that's one of the blessing that I will always be grateful.  The first day I stepped my feet in Doha I feel sadness, homesickness maybe. On our way pa lang from airport, parang ang lungkot na ng paligid paano ba naman walang kakulay-kulay ang mga building, halos lahat cream, and that time halos wala kang makikitang mga puno basta ibang -iba, buti na lang after 7 years colorful Doha na rin ito :-)
This photo was taken one night na bored na bored kaming lahat, ito yung time na nagsawa na kami manuod ng manuod ng movies sa DVD at nagsawa na rin kaming makipagchat sa kung sino-sino...hahaha, hausemates remember those days kapag bored na bored tayo dahil wala pang Facebook noong mga panahong yon ang Friendster boring naman and all we have is one laptop ni Sze and Shawn kaya don pa tayo nagchachat sa room nila at kung sino-sino ang chinachat sa YM chatroom si Denden ang ifro-front sa cam at pag narinig si Lolo or Lola ay biglang iclo-close :-)
We are not living together in one flat anymore but every now and then we see each other. Super nakakamiss but in a way being separated from each other taught us a lesson - to love and support each other more. Family is always the best!
That's for this week guys, try to reminisce for sure ako mag-eenjoy din kayo :-)
Happy Throwback Thursday!
