Sanitizing Melissa

How's your weekend guys? I hope that though we are still under quarantine, you are still able to spend your time wisely - doing some chores, crafting or relaxing on a couch while reading your favorite book or watching your favorite series.
As long as naenjoy mo yung time mo at hindi mo narinig ang sarili mo na nagreklamo ka na "gabi na naman wala na namang nangyari sa maghapon ko" then you spent your time wisely.
I enjoyed my weekend, for me "gold" ang magkaroon ng 2 days off kasi every other weekend lang ako may off ng Saturday and I'm still going to office despite of the pandemic. I know that the Lord JESUS Christ will protect me and will give me strength everyday.
So ayun na nga speaking of weekend, sinulit ko talaga. Friday I attended online worship services and bonding with my family dito sa bahay and even sa Pinas. I enjoyed my bed, nakakamiss yung you don't mind time kung anong oras  kang gigising kasi wala naman pasok. Hooray talaga yun for me! So today, one of the major accomplishment ko is to clean and sanitize some of my shoes.
Recently there are some posts spreading that the COVID can live on the sole of the shoes for 5 days. So what we did, we have now shoe rack near our door kung saan namin iniiwan ang mga shoes namin, so additional to that I think that sanitizing shoes can be done also at least every weekend.
I love shoes, actually namana ko yata yun kay Mommy. Lumaki ako na kung anong color ng bag ganon din ang shoes ko pero since dapat talaga mabilisan ang kilos kapag OFW ka dito, sabi ko nga time is gold , minsan kapag papasok sa office kung ano na lang maisip isuot na shoes hahaha pero make it sure naman na color coordinated pa rin.
Let me share you some of my shoes na super comfortable talaga sa paa and you can wear whether in office, casual events or any occasion (hindi po ito paid advertisement ha). May ganon talaga ako na attitude I can stick to a brand basta nagustuhan ko or nastisfied ako.
I'm not fond of rubber material texture shoes pero from the start na natry ko yung Dumond brand made in Brazil nagustuhan ko talaga until I met Melissa.

Here's a trivia I got about Melissa:
Melissa are made from MELFLEX plastic, a patented, hypo-allergenic, recyclable, and extremely flexible PVC. The shoes are totally cruelty free and devoid of animal products. The Brazilian-based company is totally rad in its recycling of 99.9% of factory water and waste, and they also go the distance by recycling overstock styles into next season’s collection. Even better? Melissa Shoes employees are paid above average wages and benefits.

Today, I clean and sanitized my Melissa shoes. So guys if you have Melissa shoes din, super easy sya linisin and low maintenance talaga.
I have a 5 pairs of Melissa. Well, nabili ko lang sya lahat ng nakasale (para ano pa na nasa Procurement  line ako di ba) 2 of these shoes I bought 120 QAR from its original price of QAR799. Best buys talaga di ba? :)

Here are some tips on how to clean your Melissa Shoes:

1. Get a small basin with liquid soap, brush, sponge, soft cloth (cotton), alcohol in sprayer.
2. Wet the sole but do not soak into the basin. Clean the sole using brush and water with liquid soap.
3. Check the body of the shoes to find the dirt. Usually, since glossy ang texture mejo maitim ang dirt nya na nakakapit and since glossy need ng extra care.
4. Use a sponge or cloth on the body of the shoes. Wipe it until the dirt is gone.
5. Wipe it with dry cotton cloth. Its important na soft and cotton to avoid scratches.
6. For the inside, yung small brush like old tooth brush lang then clean the lining part. If you will notice yun talaga yung sinisingitan ng mga dumi. You will see it visibly talaga yung mga natanggal na dumio.
7. Wipe it with cloth until ma-dry. To be sure na dry sya, pwede muna pahanginan.
8. Now you can sanitize it using an alcohol in bottle sprayer.
9. Spray it with alcohol, mejo mataas yung position ng kamay para wisik-wisik lang.
10. Let it dry bago ulit ilagay sa box or shoe rack.

Another thing I really love on Melissa aside sa comfy sya, hindi nawawala yung fragrance nya kahit nakailang years na at lagi kong ginagamit, still yung smell nya ang bango pa rin :)

Guys, I encourage you kung mejo nauubusan na kayo ng ginagawa at mejo napapansin nyo na nabobored na kayo, there are so many things you can do to be productive inside the house. So hope this simple tips can help you to stay safe and healthy against the virus. Stay clean and keep sanitizing!
God bless us all :)

Here's a bible verse that I want to leave you that you can meditate:

“The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked.”
 I JOHN 2:6

When we walk with the Lord we draw closer to the Lord with all our heart. He becomes our focus. Our hearts longs for Him. Our heart seeks His presence. Our desire to have fellowship with Christ and be like Him will grow while our worldly desires will decrease.

Let's Take A Bike Ride

After our C.R.E.W (youth ministry) service last Friday, we hit Aspire park. Its actually Guia's request before her flight that night going back to Philippines for her college schooling. The weather is still quite good and the heat of the sun is still tolerable.

Yay is that mean riding in the bicycle? Honestly I don't know how to ride in the bicycle on my own. I tried naman na matuto nung bata pa ako, Daddy even asked someone to teach me pero hindi talaga, as I've told you hindi nga ako sporty pang board games lang ako, hehehe. I asked these youngsters that I can be their photographer but since ang available na bike lang is for four seaters I joined them na rin, rider lang ako hahaha.
rate: 35QR per hour

They have single bike also but its not available last Friday. According to "ate" nire-repair daw yung mga single or solo bike nila.
Let's start the ride!

Balancing is one of the most important thing you should learn in biking. If you don't know how to balance there's a tendency for you fall down especially if you'll pass by in humps and rough roads and yes bruises and scratches is part of the training. But as long as you really want to learn and you are dedicated I guess it will be easy for you. Well, I don't know on me why I reached at my age and doesn't learn how to.
Its just like life itself. There are times that you will get confuse on which to do first, sometimes you need to drop what's on  your other hand so you can go on smoothly. Along your way you will bump and encounter problems and challenges but you never stop there cos you want to reach on the finish line.
Keep on moving. Keep on going!
If you feel tired, don't worry you have friends to help you. Sometimes they are just quiet, they just want for you to try but never they will let you fall nor down.
"A friend loves at all times" - Proverbs 17:17

Some says life is a race, you need to rush in order to win. But for me, life is a gift to enjoy; you don't need to rush, all you need to do is go through it and walk on it smoothly. Just fight the good fight.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2Timothy 4:7

Always bear in mind that in every game there are rules to follow and observe, so be sure that you are on the right track.
"An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules"- 2 Timothy 2:5

If you get tired, its fine for a pause and take rest but never attempt to quit the game.

"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:14
Its all worth it!
We enjoyed and had fun, nakakapagod man at nakakauhaw its another memorable experience naman.

And guys you don't need to bring water with you; they are giving away water for free, unlimited pa. So if you are looking for summer activity under the sun, why not try biking?
Have a FUN FUN FUN SUMMER!

Qatar International Food Festival 2015

Its their 6th year to hold Qatar International Food Festival this year, yet its only my first time to visit them. Qatar International Food Festival is a fair participated by 5 star hotels, high end restaurants, food chains and even the newly put up food businesses.

QIFF is divided into several zones.
Welcome and Stage Zone, where everyone especially families can enjoy different entertainment activities. They have a big screen where kids together with their parents can sit, relax and watch.

L-R : Genie, Sheila, and Me

They also have a fireworks display every 7:30 p.m. I personally enjoyed watching it, my friend Genie even record it on video.

Food Zone features high profile restaurants that offers different cuisines from around the world, so if you haven't try them on their own place like in hotels, you can enjoy some of their dishes in small serving and of course at the low price.
Here are some of the featured hotels that we checked.
Marriott Hotel offers Mexican food and even the theme of their booth look so Mexican. They also have some props on the corner if you want to have a souvenir photo. I've got mine!

La Cigale Hotel offers Lebanese cuisine.

For burger and fries lovers, Movenpick booth is for you guys
You know how much I love Oryx Rotana though its not their Choices restaurant on the food, still we enjoyed what the Cellar served. They serves best cuisine suited for Asians taste buds.
smile pa rin even mouth is full
And look what I've got from them, a photo  in their IG frame. You just need to upload your picture to IG tag 3 of your friends, put #oryxrotanaselfie and you can have a chance to win 2 voucher to dine in on their hotel. Kaya if you have yours, don't forget to upload.

If you are a seafood lover whether a crabs or lobster, they have it here in Sheraton booth.

W Hotel offers pizza and other pica-pica treats.

Dinner in the Sky Zone is one of the activity that made QIFF popular. This year its Qatar Airways who sponsored the Dinner in the Sky, serving in a business class style of the 5 star airline. Its expensive but I guess its the experience of eating in height that you're paying.
Live Cooking Zone features celebrity chefs from different country but since I'm not much into cooking shows I'm not familiar to them. They have a big LED screen where you can see the actual scene of what they are doing in front as well as how the food was prepared and cooked.

IG Market Zone give way to small businesses which usually do selling through social medias or exhibits.

They really offers a variety of food - you can find a lot of sweets stands, ice cream as well as popcorn booth.
Kung sa Pilipinas ang carpet sa loob lang ng bahay well here hindi cos even sa park na may damo pwede ring gamitin.
Its a picnic everywhere scenario every time na may QIFF. What I also love about QIFF aside from the food of course is its one way for the family to have bonding and spend quality time with each other, nakakatuwa makita na kahit nakakapagod (sa tingin ko lang), parents don't mind na isama at habul-habulin ang mga anak nila.

After you had a full dinner, there are some that offers tea and coffee but me I love smoothies from Jhonny Rockets!

Don't worry about your calories consumed, since car nor taxi is not permitted to enter inside MIA park you can take a walk and burn again some of the calories that you consume. But before leaving the place, don't forget to take a picture on their #QIFF2015 and when you upload to social media put the same hash tag.

Hope you enjoyed QIFF 2015 like I do. See next year!
