Picks for my Crib

Sorry guys wasn't able to post anything for this weekend. I'm getting lazy lately, even I have few on drafts I can't continue or I don't know how to end.
Did I tell you that I love furniture, home decor and even interior or just anything about house - living room, kitchen, dining, rooms, any part of the house.
And here are some of my picks that if I 'll have a chance to incorporate on my own house or room, I will definitely give it a try. That's one of the thing that makes me so excited to go back home, I miss everything on our house and on my crib - my room.

Colorful Couch

I love stylish couch and I really want to have a piece in my room, although I'm keeping one already but this time not a "floor" couch. I checked on the net and some other furniture depot the last time I go home for vacation but to my surprise a piece will cost minimum of 20,000 PHP...as in one piece depends on the design and structure. So I opted not to buy but definitely I will buy at least one or check if mas makakamura ako if magpa-customize ako. I might enjoy reading more, if I'll have this couch :-)
This is my couch in my room, the photo was taken 2010 pa but its still in a very good condition. Daddy gave this one to me when I was still in college, I'm keeping it more than a decade :-)

Roman Curtain
I'm not a "sunny" person, literally my eyes cannot stand the direct natural light maybe because it really triggers my migraine, that's why curtain is essential in my room. Even I'm away from home for some years, Mommy always assures me that she personally taking care of it :-) - clean it, change the bed sheets and curtains and check my stuffs.
I want to change the curtain style that I'm using in my room. I'm using the traditional double curtain, kapag morning nakaopen sya sheer curtain lang ang naiiwan then sa gabi totally nakababa yung first layer ng curtain. So I'm just thinking to have roman curtain, na mas madali, its almost the same as blinds but you can have it in a fabric. Yun nga lang you can't buy it ready made like other curtains kailangan talaga na masukatan yung window para sure na tama yung sukat. I asked Mommy na humanap ng magtatahi, I 'll definitely choose neutral color so bagay pa rin kahit anong color ng bed sheets.

Working Area
I can stay in my room the whole day, sabi ni Daddy ko kung meron daw sigurong kitchen ang loob ng kwarto ko hindi na ako lalabas..hahaha
I have a lot of stuffs inside my room especially noong hindi pa napagawa yung "mini library - family room" sa itaas din near my room lang. All of my books and magazine collections are inside my room plus my mickey collections pa, sabi nga ni Mommy hindi na daw mukhang working table, obvious nga di ba..ang working table ko turned to be display cabinet ..hehehe
Since mejo spacious pa naman ang room ko kasi mu bed is single naman, siguro ok na yung ganitong working area sa loob ng room.
Literally, nagtratrabaho talaga ako inside my room. When I was still in the Philippines ang may mga sideline works ako like research papers and thesis na ginagawa or chinecheck sa room ko lang ako almost maghapon until I finished. I don't think I can still make the same sideline jobs hmmm...but for sure even hindi na ganon ang nature I still need to have working area on my room. Since grade 4 ako I still have already my own working/ study area, before it was a part of  our living room but my parents to transfer it to my room kasi kapag nasa living room habang nag-aaral nakabukas ang t.v. :-)

I'm excited to re-decorate my room, to change its interiors - dagdag bawas na naman ang peg ng pag-aayos. I am a sentimental person kasi so sometimes its hard for me to let go stuffs from people I really love and treasure but as they say sometimes we need to let go things and just recall the moments and memories. I'll update you as soon as magawa ko na.
All I need for now is to look for some stuffs to fill my room for its new look. I don't need expensive stuffs, I believe in creativity, its just like clothes - mix and match lang :-)
Definitely it will not be like this anymore on the next post, at hindi na rin sya mapapagkamalaang room ng mga pamangkin ko...hahaha or room ng isang kindergarten :-) kailangan ng mag-level up ng room ...hehehe
So guys if you know where I can buy low cost home/ room decor and stuffs or even furniture just let me know.
Remember its still the "home" that matters. May our house be filled with love and care from each other so it will always be a home.

Happy Earth Day 2013

TAKE CARE THE EARTH AND IT WILL SURELY SMILE ON US - photo from Goggle +

I am not that environmentalist as like others but I have concerns for the Mother Earth. I believes that we are only steward of all the creations of God and we are responsible in taking care of it.
At my age I am blessed that I was able to see and witness the changes that happened on nature. I was blessed to see the green mountains and forests; heard the chirping of the birds; go with the flow of streams; played with the waves of blue clean waters of the sea; felt the fresh air in my face; ran under the sun without any worries that I will be burned after, and so many things that you cannot see nor feel right now - its because we already facing the effect of the climate change.
Yesterday, April 22 almost over a billion of people from 192 countries celebrated the Earth Day. Around the world people organized rallies, campaigns, clean ups and tree plantings. I remembered when I was still in the Philippines, I am working in a government agency then. The city government of Batangas have so many programs and projects in taking care of mother earth - clean ups, segregation of waste from bio to non bio, tree plantings and others. But even the idea and program itself is good, some people still resist and some doesn't want to obey. There are certain laws that were created to punish those who will disobey. I am happy to know that even some are against of it, still many are favor and its good to see that the city government has its firm stand to continue their programs.
When I got home from vacation last 2010 I learned that plastic bags are also prohibited under a certain city ordinance. Happy to see the shoppers on their eco-bags although I spent money as most of the time I forget my eco bag at home so I need to buy a new one. Even the leading department stores like SM also participated in the campaign, instead of using plastic bags they are now using paper brown bags. Likewise, food chains like Jollibee and Mc Donalds Batangas City joined, instead of using styrofoam they are now using cartoon boxes for their take-outs. Not only that even in the stores in the market except those who are selling "wet" products. Truly I salute everyone who's behind in implementing such ordinances in our place. KUDOS! Although there are still violators, well I know you'll learn your lesson.
Just last December 2012 during my vacation I learned that smoking in the public places including streets, parks, nearby schools and public offices and some other areas were restricted. Super I'm so HAPPY to hear that from a friend who is one of the so many staffs delegated by the city government to implement that. So that's the reason behind during those days that I didn't smell cigarette smokes in jeepneys...thank as in SUPER!
I know that it will require big amount of money to continuously implement those ordinances strictly, but its more than the money - its for the people and  for the sake of our environment. Hoping and praying that province of Batangas will continue to implement more ordinances and laws concerning to health of the people and to betterment of environment. Not only for Batangas Province but all over Philippines.
Here are some of the thumbnails showing the FACE OF CLIMATE CHANGE in some parts of the world and how they celebrated EARTH DAY.

Here are some eco tips I've got on Earth Day Network Philippines:

1. Practice solid waste management by segregating our waste.
Do not mix wastes. Paper goes with paper, plastic with other plastics, dry with other dry materials and wet with other wet materials.
2. Open windows to allow sunlight and air to enter your house.
By doing so, you avoid turning on your lights and your air-conditioning units. You cut your costs and you prevent the burning of fossil fuels.
3. Buy organic products.
Organic products are nurtured and raised using the most eco-friendly process. Also, they are healthy and do not contain toxins and free radicals that are dangerous to your health.
4. Teach kids about the environment.
As the future of this planet, children must learn about how life exists on this planet as early as possible. Make them involved in environmental events so they appreciate the Earth and take care of it.
5. Water your garden or your potted plants in the early morning or late afternoon.
By doing so, you lessen evaporation and therefore save up on water and avoid additional costs.
6. Print email and attachments only when necessary.
We can save trees by only printing out necessary documents. If not needed for filing, just leave it in your computer!
7. Ride mass transport systems.
Mass transport systems allow the distribution of carbon footprint among all the passengers thereby lessening greenhouse emissions.
8. Always bring and use reusable bags.
Plastic is a non-biodegradable material and can survive for thousands of years so make it a habit to bring your own reusable bag in order to avoid getting plastic bags.
9. Ride a bike or walk when going short distances.
By doing this, we avoid greenhouse gas emissions that pollute the air and damage our atmosphere and we get to exercise to improve our health.
10. Plant and nurture trees.
Trees are important because they provide the best carbon sink to combat global warming

Practicing and applying some small ways on how to keep out environment clean and healthy religiously will hep a lot for us to have a better world to live.
May we always be reminded that when Mother Earth is sick her people have a lot of chances to be sicked as well.
Lets love and take care of the earth.

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Vacation 2010: Things I Hearted this Week

There's no place like home talaga
Kaya naman halos lahat ng bagay sa paligid ko I really

At mas masaya kung yung mga bagay na yon is makukuha mo, matitikman o kaya mararanasan.

Super I hearted by these things this week

Chocolate Marble Cake from Goldilocks

Since I was in college I really love Goldilocks Marble Slice Cake. Everytime I had a chance to drop by on their store bumibili talaga ako...ang sarap kasi, hindi sya masyadong matamis compare to other cakes and the cake itself super soft and fresh na fresh ang lasa kaya siguro super nahappy talaga ako nung matikman ko ulit ang lasa nya

Room's Side Table

I love pictures & I love flaunting those on my room. There is a story behind those pictures and kahit pa yata ilang beses ipaulit sa akin ang kwento e kayang kaya kong ulitin. Pictures are full of stories...full of memories that really to be treasured.

Those 3 pictures (big one) on the picture was all taken a week after I departed from Philippines on 2006 while those on the small frames was taken in Robinson one weekend na wala kaming klase sa Masteral so instead nagmalling kami and napagkatuwaan na magpapicture..hehehe

Sungka

I can't remember the last time I played sungka. Ang naaalala ko lang is when I was in highschool binilhan kami ni Tita Mama ng sungkaan and nagshare kami ni Ate Mae (may cousin) and everytime na naglalaro kami lagi kaming talo kasi mukhang memorize na yata ni Tita Ma ang sungkaan..hehehe. Who says that sungka is larong pambata lang? its a game for all ages. Just yesterday super naexcite ako na maglaro ulit nito when I saw my cousins (the younger generation) playing. And since wala pa masyadong makachikahan sa cementery I played sungka muna

Baby Tee

I don't usually buy baby tees kasi bihira lang naman ako magsuot usually even casual day sa office I still preferred to wear a polo shirt or anything with collar but today when I saw the designs I really at napabili talaga ako

Super I love the printed words...and I really mean it. I am thankful that I am a Filipino

The first time I saw the design of this shirt alam ko na di ko na sya bibitiwan..hehehe. I love the unique design of African ladies...simple black & white then nabreak lang nang mga striking colors ng mga damit nila..nice di ba?

I know marami pa akong magugustuhan, matitikman, mararanasan o maaring balikan while I'm taking my vacation but for this week ito lang muna ang ishare ko sa inyo

Vacation 2010: My First Week

After stressful months being in front of computer, working hard for more than 12 hours a day…at last the time to relaxed and be with my family & friends has come. Last October 15, 2010, Friday I arrived in Philippines for my 1 month and 3 days vacation.

There’s no place like home.

Even I still have my jetlog and really tired from my flight I didn’t waste any chance to send SMS to my friends that I’m home!

Super I miss everything in our house and really excited to sleep with my bed again.
October 16, 2010. I get up as early as expected to think that I sleep morning already J. One of the things that I really miss is my mom’s coffee. She used to make coffee for us every morning that’s why when I worked in Qatar I really missed it. My Lola Viring, my dad’s mother visited to our house first together with my other cousins. After eating our lunch, I asked my brother to drive for me and drop me to the parlor.

Usually I go to the parlor to fix my hair at least one week before I go back to Qatar but this time it’s top on my list….ayaw ko nga na pangit ang hair ko sa mga pics..hahahaha. I stayed at Index parlor until 10:00 p.m. Thanks to Daniela who did my hair. And since I am the last customer and they are almost closed and just waiting for me to finish I was not able to have my foot spa.
Super thankful din ako when my friends called me na kahit naman nasa shower session ako ng hair ko is talagang super chicka ako..hehehe. Thanks Ian for making calls straight away from UK and to Jun as well.
October 17, 2010 Sunday, we attended Sunday Worship Service, I was overwhelmed after a long time I was able to be with my family again attending the service. For almost two years I’m going to Church with no one…one time nga when I saw one brethren with her mom in the Church parang napaiyak ako coz I’m missing my mom. I testified how God works to me while I’m working in Qatar and until on that very moment..what to expect crayola na naman ang beauty ko,hahahaha. Late afternoon after we went to Robinson’s I asked my personal driver..hahaha,just joking my brother to drop me again at Index for my footspa.

I love red ribbon, every time I’m coming back in Pinas the next morning first stop ko talaga is Red Ribbon but since I had no time to dine in I just bought super delicious pastries and cakes nila. I can’t resist their banana cake and cinnamon roll…really my favorites.
October 18, 2010. It’s a stormy day! But it didn’t stop me to be out J I visited one of colleague family. I met Kuya Roly’s wife & kids…I really enjoyed chickahan time with them. Then after that I go straight to SM to meet one of my very good friend & former officemate Beth J. Since most of the food chains are full we decided to eat at Chowking….breaded porkchop meal. I love it!.

One of our favorite bonding talaga is malling kaya naman go talaga kami. We bought the same shoes…

Meeting new friends is one of things that I really look forward on my vacation.

October 20, 2010, without any advanced planning I meet Jessie. After I visited my DILG family, I meet Jessie and kahit mejo maulanpa that time we went to Tagaytay…as in hindi naming alam kung san ba kami sa Tagaytay pupunta buti na lang marami na pa lang mga activities na iniooffer ang Picnic Groove. He was not able to convinced me to take zipline. But for the first time in my life I tried horseback riding…although nakakatakot enjoy naman. I hope the next time that I will try it I can do it on my own na at wala ng guide..hehehe

October 21, 2010, when I was still planning to meet Kcat in person without any hesitation (kaya?hahaha) Jessie offered to accompany me to Kcat’s place but since his car is coding we decided to bring our car. He told me that he’s not used to drive manual car but we still try pero unfortunately he can’t make it and since we really want to be with Kcat, he called Kuya Bong, his brother to drive for us. Super thanks talaga Kuya Bong for making it possible to meet Kcat.

October 22, 2010 Its a rainy day! I stayed at home but didn’t waste any time. Since this is my first time na magbakasyon ng hindi December ngayon din lang ulit ako nakapaglagay ng mga christmas decors, datirati kasi ako lang ang tagalinis ng mga decor pagsasapit na ang January but this year ako ang naglagay

First week pa lang yan and I know marami pang memorable & treasured moments na darating…there’s no place like home talaga! As one of my friend told me on SMS I will start to love Philippines again…I do

Saktong Pinoy kay Mr. D.

If there's one thing that reminds me of this day yun ay ang Mister Donut

January 16 is Batangas City Fiesta pero before that day every January 15 marami ng mga affair...Bb. Lungsod ng Batangas na talagang bonding time na naming magpipinsan na panoorin as in tinatapos namin until madaling araw and since our Tita Mama is the official caterer of Batangas City Government we can able to get good seat
If ang bonding ko sa mga pinsan ko is watching the pageant, I have different bonding with my friends...to have coffee. And as I reminisced this day naalala ko ever since naging officemates ko sila at naging friends every 15th of January we have a coffee date at Mister Donut!
Naiisip ko nga bakit ba sa Mister Donut lagi...hmmm e ang dami namang mga coffee shop. Its just at home na kami sa Mister Donut! We can talk anything there...laughter to the max pa. And syempre I personally love the taste of their swiss mocha or fancy torte cakes! Hay super namimiss ko na talaga not only their coffee and donuts isama mo na rin ang pasta nila but mostly ang mga kwentuhan at tawanan with my friends.
I'm looking forward to be in Mister Donut again on my next vacation...at home talaga sa Mister Donut, sakto sa panlasa ng Pinoy
